At Digital Detox, we believe in a world where technology and humanity work in perfect harmony. Our mission is to harness technology to solve problems facing people and the planet. We do this to make people more productive, and happy.

We are people first
We’ve always been a people-first business, putting the interests of our employees before profit. We recognise that the power of our team is our most important asset and as a result, our wellbeing is our primary focus. That’s why we promote and support a positive work-life balance.
Back when we were a dev house 10 years ago, we banned releases on Fridays to protect the weekend. We’ve always encouraged an open and supportive culture so that we can help our team develop their careers, but also ensure they enjoy their lives outside of work.
And now, as our team is close to 50 people for the first time, we continue to prioritise the team’s wellbeing, mental health and career development over everything else when making decisions about running the company. That’s why we recently replaced our team perks with a new, flexible benefits package that would suit every DD member and a post-Covid world too.
We are also planet conscious
We recognise our responsibility as a company, and individuals, to understand, reduce and mitigate our impact on the world around us to help fight climate change. That’s why we see it mandatory to give as much consideration to our social and environmental impact as we do to our financial returns.
We’ve been tracking and reducing our carbon footprint for three years thanks to Planet Mark. And we’re in the process of selecting a partner to offset our historic carbon for the same period to become carbon neutral. This is no longer a nice-to-have, it is a business-critical decision to acknowledge, address and mitigate our impact on the world around us.
We’ve already changed our suppliers to sustainable ones when it comes to the office, from ethically sourced coffee all the way to green electricity. We are also going to swap our pension provider for a net-zero one, which will help us with more responsible investing that can make a real impact on climate change. A UK limited company has a duty to act in the best interests of the shareholders. But we also need to consider employees, suppliers, clients, the environment and the wider community as shareholders in our company. We believe that a responsible business needs to play a pivotal role in driving societal and environmental change.
And this is why we’re going B Corp
We are moving to align Digital Detox to the B Corp framework, to drive us forward in building a better business and allow us to measure ourselves on how we perform against the framework. After internal discussions, we unanimously agreed that this is the next step on our journey, and we are all behind it! Becoming a B Corp will build trust, capability and value in our organisation.
B Corp works for Digital Detox. It is the logical next step for us as a humanity-led business and we are passionate about the principles and emotions behind it. But it’s not for everyone and we understand that. We’ll continue to talk about the initiatives we undertake as a company as we want to lead by example and if we can, encourage others to consider their wider impact beyond the bottom line. Because sustainable businesses are better businesses and should be a force for good.
